1. Who operates SpeechZoo
SpeechZoo is operated by Wellnest Group. For any COPPA-related question, you can reach a real person at:

2. What we collect about your child
We practice data minimization — we collect as little as possible. Here is the full list:

We do not collect, from or about your child:
- Last name
- Home address or ZIP
- Geolocation
- Phone number or email
- School or daycare name
- Photos of your child's face
- Social-media handles
- Persistent advertising identifiers (we don't use IDFA)
- Health diagnoses
3. How we use it
We use child information strictly to deliver the service to you:
- Show age-appropriate activities and milestones
- Personalize prompts and greetings with your child's first name
- Generate a non-diagnostic developmental screening result for you, the parent
- Show progress over time in your parent dashboard
- Improve activity difficulty based on completion patterns (aggregate, no child-level profiling)
We do not:
- Show advertising to children
- Build behavioral profiles of children
- Sell or rent child information to anyone, ever
- Use child data to train general AI models
- Allow children to interact with other users
4. Who we share it with
We share child information only with service providers that help us run the app. These providers are contractually required to use the data only for the service we hired them for, and to protect it with industry-standard security.
- Cloudflare — backend hosting and database
- Apple — app delivery and in-app purchase (receives no child content, only the parent's subscription status)
- Crash/diagnostics provider — anonymous crash traces, no child content
Note: the voice-cloning provider (ElevenLabs) processes the parent's voice. It does not receive any child audio, name, or information.
5. Verifiable parental consent (VPC)
Before we collect any information about your child, we obtain your consent as the parent. We do this through methods recognized by the Federal Trade Commission:
- Parent-only account creation. The app is rated for adults and listed outside the App Store Kids category. Account creation requires an adult email and acceptance of our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- In-app consent screen. Before entering your child's name or age, you see a consent screen describing what we collect and tap "I consent."
- Credit-card / Apple-ID verification. When you start a paid subscription through Apple In-App Purchase, Apple verifies you are an adult with a valid payment method. This is an FTC-recognized VPC method for monetary transactions.
If we ever change what we collect about your child, or how we use it, we will request fresh consent before the change takes effect.
6. Your rights as a parent
Under COPPA, you have the right to:
- Review the information we've collected about your child
- Delete your child's information
- Refuse further collection or use of your child's information
- Revoke consent and close the account
Exercising any of these rights is free. We will never charge you for COPPA-related requests, and we will not retaliate (e.g., we won't degrade service unfairly — though refusing further collection may disable app features that require the data).
7. How to review, delete, or stop collection
In the app
- Review: Settings → Child Profile → View all collected data
- Delete specific data: Settings → Child Profile → Delete practice history / screening results / audio samples
- Delete everything: Settings → Account → Delete My Account
- Stop future collection: Settings → Privacy → Turn off practice-audio recording
By email
Email hello@wellnestgroup.life with:
- Subject: "COPPA request — review / delete / stop collection" (pick one)
- The email address on your SpeechZoo account
- What you want us to do
We respond within 10 business days (usually within 2-3 days) and confirm when it's done. We may ask one follow-up question to verify you are the parent on the account.
8. How long we keep your child's data
- While your account is active — as long as you want it for progress tracking.
- After you delete your account — child data is deleted within 30 days.
- Practice audio samples — deleted after 90 days automatically, even if you do nothing. (You can delete them sooner.)
- Aggregated, de-identified data — we may retain activity-completion statistics that cannot be linked to any individual child, for product improvement.
